Information

The Euphorbia Trigona Rubra is the purple sister of the Euphorbia Trigona. In fact, everything that is green in the Euphorbia Trigona is purple in this Euphorbia variant. The appearance of the Euphorbia Trigona Rubra is very similar to a cactus. Yet this Euphorbia falls under the spurge family. Because white sap oozes from this Euphorbia when damaged or injured, the Euphorbia Trigona Rubra has been given the nickname African milk tree. This sap is poisonous so avoid contact with your skin, mouth and eyes.

During the winter the Euphorbia Trigona loses its leaves. This is because this succulent plant goes into hibernation. This succulent also needs less water during this period. Although this succulent plant loses its leaves, it does not become uglier. Because the spines are now clearly visible, this Euphorbia really gets a badass appearance. In the spring, this Euphorbia starts producing new leaves again. During this period, this succulent plant needs more water. The flowers of this Euphorbia are unknown. This is because it does not occur often and in fact no one has ever seen this Euphorbia flowering. The Euphorbia Trigona is a fast grower. In warm countries it is also used as a natural fence.
