The Euphorbia mitriformis is a beautiful Euphorbia species that you do not often encounter. In nature, this Euphorbia occurs in the west of the Saanag region in Somalia. Here the Euphorbia mitriformis grows on large open lime-sand plains at an altitude of 1200-1600 meters.

The Euphorbia mitriformis is a slow grower and forms large clusters over the years. Its trunks have a fresh green color with sturdy short gray spines. The spines grow in pairs in a V-shape from her areoles. The space between the tubercles is slightly collapsed in the trunks of Euphorbia mitriformis. This makes it seem like they need water. But this is often not the case. It is best to follow the water schedule below for this Euphorbia.

The Euphorbia mitriformis is an easy bloomer. She usually does this in the spring and summer. Small red flowers with a yellow heart grow on top of the plant between its areoles.
