The Greenovia dodrantalis is a beautiful and unique plant species that occurs naturally on the Canary Islands. Here the Greenovia dodrantalis often grows between stones on rock slopes.

The Greenovia dodrantalis has a dark green to green-blue color on its leaves. When the Greenovia dodrantalis is growing, its leaves expand and take on more of a rosette shape. When the Greenovia dodrantalis goes into dormancy, its leaves rise and it takes on its characteristic rose shape.

When the Greenovia dodrantalis grow older, they can form small new plants from below. When these are a few centimeters in size, they can be taken from cuttings to continue growing on their own roots. You can also leave them on the mother plant. Then they will grow into a whole cluster of these beautifully shaped Greenovia dodrantalis plants.

The Greenovia dodrantalis only blooms once in its life. The plant often does this when it is old. The head of the rosette turns into a cluster of yellow flowers. The entire plant does not always die after flowering. If the plant has side shoots, they will continue to grow.
