The Trichocereus Spachianus is a beautiful column cactus. The green cactus alternating with the golden yellow colored spines makes this column cactus a real eye-catcher. In nature, the Trichocereus Spachianus grows in a large area in western Argentina and Bolivia. There this Trichocereus can grow to a height of 2 meters.

The flowers appear when the Trichocereus Spachianus is 40 cm high. They are very large and white in color. The flowers of the Trichocereus Spachianus grow to 20 cm long and 15 cm wide and bloom for one day. They spread a wonderful slightly sweet scent. The Trichocereus Spachianus blooms with us at the end of spring.

Trichocereus Spachianus is a very easy cactus that mainly grows in summer. Do not provide the Trichocereus Spachianus with sufficient water during these growing months in warm periods. When this column cactus goes into rest, the water requirement is a lot less. When the Trichocereus Spachianus is completely dry, it can have temperatures down to -15 in the winter. They must then be covered. High humidity at these temperatures can cause damage to the growing point of the cactus. These Trichocereus species are often overwintered in cold temperatures because they greatly promote flowering in the spring.
