De Cleistocactus jujuyensis f. monstruosus is een unieke cactus die je niet vaak tegenkomt. Ze is een montruose vorm van de Cleistocactus jujuyensis en is ontstaan in de cultuur kweek.

De cactus Produceert vreemde asymmetrische tuberculeuze stengels die in hoge kolommen groeien of als slangen om elkaar heen draaien en slingeren. De areolen zijn onregelmatig en soms versmolten tot horizontale lijnen. De stekels zijn fijn borstelig en meestal zeer schaars.

Wanneer deze Cleistocactus het naar haar zin heeft bij je gaat ze in het voorjaar bloeien. Vanuit de zijkant groeien langwerpige buisvormige oranjerode bloemen.
