The Adenium Obesum Anouk is a truly beautiful cultivar of the Adenium Obesum. The Adenium Obesum Anouk looks like a regular Adenium. You only see the difference when it starts to bloom. The Adenium Obesum Anouk cultivar has extra large red-purple flowers and often blooms with more flowers per flowering. The edges of the flowers are intense purple-pink colored and become lighter towards the center. The heart of the flower is white. The flowers of the Adenium Obesum Anouk smell slightly sweet.

The Adenium Obesum is a beautiful green caudex plant that also retains a lot of leaves in the dormant period. Each plant of the Adenium Obesum is unique and makes its own shaped caudex. As a result, no two plants are the same and you get characteristic appearance per caudex. The Adenium Obesum can also be used as bonsai because of its beautiful shapes.

In nature, the Adenium Obesum occurs on the island of Socotra and in northeastern parts of Africa. These are very dry areas where the Adenium Obesum grows. In order to survive long periods of drought, the Adenium Obesum stores a lot of moisture in its thick trunk. In nature, the Adenium Obesum can grow into Baobab-like trees of up to 5 meters.

The flowers do not appear at a fixed time of year. When they are happy with you and get enough warmth and light, they can bloom several times a year. The beautiful red-purple flowers then appear at the top of the stems. The flowers can grow up to 5 cm in diameter.

The Adenium Obesum also has a few Dutch nicknames. Namely the desert rose and impala lily.
