Information

The Albuca concordiana is a beautiful caudex that occurs in nature in a large area in South Africa and the North of Namibia. Here the Albuca concordiana grows on dry stony plains. Here often only other low plants grow.

The leaves of the Albuca concordiana are green to grey-green in colour. They grow in a spiral upwards from the bulb.

The Albuca concordiana is a winter grower and has its rest period in the summer. It is important that you follow the biological rhythm of the plant when caring for it. In the fall, the first green tips emerge from the caudex. With this, this Albuca concordiana indicates that its growing season has started. From this moment on, you can water the caudex again. The growing season lasts until the end of winter. Then the Albuca concordiana goes into rest and its beautiful green curled leaves die off. During the rest period, it is important that you do not water this caudex at all.

When the growing season of the Albuca concordiana is coming to an end, the flowers appear at the end of winter. From the heart of the caudex grows a flower stem with lots of yellow bell-shaped flowers.

The Albuca concordiana is winter hardy to -7 degrees. For this the caudex must be protected underground against night frost. Otherwise there is a chance of frost damage.
