Information
The Conophytum frutescens is a special miniature plant that is related to the Lithops. In nature, this Conophytum occurs in the Namaqualand region. Here this Conophytum grows in relatively wet areas on hilly plains in quartz and gravelly soil.
The Conophytum frutescens has a green color, two outward growing leaf tips and an indentation in the middle that resembles a mouth. A red-purple line is visible on top of the leaves. The Conophytum frutescens changes leaves once a year. The old leaf becomes wrinkled, brown and then cracks open. Her new leaves then grow below.
The Conophytum frutescens will bloom in the fall. Her fine orange flowers grow from the center at the top of the leaf.
