The Echeveria chroma is really something unique. It is a special Echeveria species that you do not often encounter. This Echeveria species does not occur in nature. It was created through breeding in the American succulent nursery Altman plants.
The unique thing about the Echeveria chroma is the variegata coloration in its leaves. In winter and spring, the Echeveria chroma mainly has dark gray-green leaves. But in summer and autumn all kinds of colored variegata patterns become visible. The colors that become visible vary from yellow, orange, pink, purple and white and often several colors combined. This way you get unique color patterns on the leaves that also differ every year. This discoloration is due to the temporary absence of chlorophyll in parts of the plant and not due to discoloration due to the sun.
The Echeveria chroma eventually grows into a succulent plant of approximately 12 cm in diameter. If the Echeveria chroma is happy with you, it will bloom in the spring. Often several flower stems emerge from the heart of the succulent. Many bell-shaped orange to orange-red flowers grow on these flower stems.
