Information

The Echinopsis mirabilis is a beautiful cactus species that blooms profusely. In nature, Echinopsis mirabilis occurs in a large area in eastern Argentina. Here this cactus grows in dry plains between low shrubs.

The Echinopsis mirabilis produces small thin trunks. These often do not grow larger than 15 cm high and 2.5 cm wide. The trunks have a dark green color. A nice contrast to this are her light brown areoles and spines growing on top of her ribs. The Echinopsis mirabilis is mainly propagated from seed. The cacti grow very quickly and can already bloom in their 2nd year.

The Echinopsis mirabilis blooms a lot. Flower buds appear on top of the cactus throughout the summer. At first a small piece of fluff is visible. This later grows into a large white flower. The flowers remain open for a maximum of 1 day, have an intense white scent and spread a wonderful scent.

Unlike many other cactus, the Echinopsis mirabilis is a short-lived species. This cactus usually does not grow older than 8-10 years. Our plants are now 2 years old. So still plenty of years left to enjoy them.
