De Euphorbia flanaganii cristaat is een bijzondere plant. De gewone Euphorbia flanaganii is een frisgroene plant die in de natuur voorkomt in de Oostkaap provincie van Zuid-afrika. Deze plant heeft een ronde middenstam waaruit vele dunne zijarmen groeien. Deze cristaat vorm groeit niet zo. Zij maakt dunne kammen die in een golvend patroon groeien. Hierdoor lijkt het net op een bol koraal. De kammen groeien in willekeurige patronen. Hierdoor is elke plant uniek in vorm.
