Information

The Gymnocalycium mihanovichii 'Multicolor' is a beautiful Gymnocalycium hybrid. It’s one of my personal favorites because of the plant’s stunning color transitions. You could keep looking at it forever.

This Gymnocalycium mihanovichii got the name Multicolor because of its many colors. The colors appear on the parts of the cactus that have few or no chloroplasts. The area between the ribs is dark green. This green fades into an area that starts out light yellow. Gradually, toward the end of each rib, the light yellow changes color: first it turns orangey yellow, then it takes on a beautiful, vivid pink hue.

Like many Gymnocalycium species, this Gymnocalycium mihanovichii 'Multicolor' blooms regularly throughout spring and summer. White to light pink flowers then emerge from the top of the cactus.
