Information

The lapidaria Margaretae is a beautiful succulent plant that you do not often encounter. This succulent belongs to the Mesembs family, just like the Lithops living stones. The leaves of the lapidaria Margaretae are blue-green in color with purple edges. The color of the edges of the leaves becomes brighter when the lapidaria Margaretae is placed in a bright place. The lapidaria Margaretae produces 2 to 3 pairs of leaves per plant. Old leaves eventually shrivel and new leaves grow back at the head of the plant.

The plant species Lapidaria is a monotypic genus. This means that it consists of a plant species. Namely the lapidaria Margaretae. In nature, the lapidaria Margaretae can be found in Namibia and the Northern Cape of South Africa. Divided into about fifteen populations, they grow almost invisibly in white quartz fields or sandy stone-covered fields. Because there is little rain in these areas, the lapidaria Margaretae plants have partially retreated into the ground. This makes them extra difficult to find.

The flowers of the lapidaria Margaretae are truly beautiful and a real reward for your good care of this succulent. They emerge from the center of the plant in the fall. The color of the flowers is pastel yellow and they can grow up to 5 cm wide. This makes the plant almost invisible.
