The cristate form of the Mammillaria Elongata makes beautiful serpentine combs that grow along each other. This makes the Mammillaria Elongata cristate cactus look a bit like a brain. The nickname of the Mammillaria Elongata cristaat is also the brain cactus.

If the Mammillaria Elongata cristaat is happy with you, it will bloom in the summer. Small white flowers will then appear along the top of the combs.
