Information

Please note: This cactus is very fragile, but because it is popular and has a beautiful appearance, we still want to offer it. We pack these cacti as carefully as possible. However, it can happen that some segments break off during transport. Please keep this in mind when ordering this cactus. You can repot the segments after drying for approximately 2 weeks. They will then continue to grow from spring onwards. This cactus species roots easily.

The Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Papyracanthus is a beautiful cactus with unique spines. These are soft and feel papery. This is why this Tephrocactus was given the varietal name Papyracanthus. The color of the spines varies from dark brown to white.

In nature, the Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Papyracanthus occurs in western Argentina. The Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Papyracanthus produces many spherical leaves and grows into a small shrub 30 cm high. The Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Papyracanthus blooms with us in spring with beautiful large white-yellow flowers. It can help to give the Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Papyracanthus ice-cold water in spring when the plant emerges from dormancy. This promotes flowering.
