Information

The Turbinicarpus alonsoi is a beautiful and small cactus. In nature this cactus occurs in rocky areas near the Mexican place Xichu.

The Turbinicarpus alonsoi has a beautiful grey-green colour and striking protruding tubercles. At the end of these grows light-coloured wool and hair spines. These often grow in wavy patterns when the cactus gets older. The Turbinicarpus alonsoi eventually makes a thick taproot. In this it can store a lot of water. This way this cactus can survive a long period of drought.

The Turbinicarpus alonsoi is an easy bloomer. She does this when she is happy with you often several times in the spring and summer. Her bright purple-pink flowers grow between the upper spikes.

When the Turbinicarpus alonsoi overwinters completely dry, it can withstand temperatures down to -5 degrees.
