This cactus has a very beautiful symmetry and has large white flakes. The flowers that appear in summer are yellow with a red calyx and smell wonderful. It is a variant of the Astrophytum Asterias, which grows slowly. This means you don't have to worry about this cactus growing too big. This variant was discovered around 1989. This cactus was clearly at the front when the dots were handed out. Numerous large felty white flakes are distributed symmetrically over the plant. They are so close together that they almost completely obscure the green of the plant. This variety probably originated in Japan. It has also been available in the Netherlands since about 1990. It is a rare cactus that is not often offered. This means that stock is limited.
