Information

The nickname of the Echinocereus Pectinatus Rubispinus is the rainbow cactus. This cactus received that nickname because of the light yellow to bright purple shades of its spines. These spines make the Echinocereus Pectinatus Rubispinus especially popular. The Rubispinus variant has beautiful bright purple colored thorns compared to the normal Echinocereus Pectinatus.

In nature, the Echinocereus Pectinatus Rubispinus grows in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. This cactus grows in a widespread area there. The Echinocereus Pectinatus Rubispinus grows in nature in a mineral-rich substrate and is resistant to long periods of drought. This cactus can grow to a height of 35 cm with a diameter of 13 cm. However, the Echinocereus Pectinatus Rubispinus takes years to reach these dimensions. It is a slow grower.

It is not only the beautiful purple thorns that make this cactus a real eye-catcher. If you take good care of this cactus, it can reward you in the summer with beautiful large fuchsia pink flowers with a white calyx and green pistil. The flowers of the Echinocereus Pectinatus Rubispinus are not only super beautiful but also smell wonderful.
