Information
The Echinocereus reichenbachii baileyi is a beautiful cactus species that occurs naturally at the site DJF1327 in the town of Medicin Park in Oklahoma. This Echinocereus reichenbachii baileyi often grows here in harsh conditions. Lots of sun, little water and also frost at night. This means that this cactus can take a beating.
The Echinocereus reichenbachii baileyi has beautiful light brown to orange-red spines on top of the cactus. Also, the upper areoles have a white color and they form some wool around the spines. The spines mainly grow sideways to protect the plant body, but also some that grow forwards. The rest of this cactus has a dark green color. The Echinocereus reichenbachii baileyi is a slow growing cactus species. Eventually she grows to a height of 25 cm. This cactus also produces several side shoots as it ages. This way you get a nice cluster of these cacti.
The Echinocereus reichenbachii not only has a beautiful appearance, but can also flower beautifully. This cactus does this easily when she is happy with you. A fluffy flower bud first grows from the head of the cactus, which later grows into a beautiful bright purple flower with a green pistil.
