Information

The Echinocereus Stramineus is a beautiful Echinocactus species with even more beautiful flowers. In nature, the Echinocereus Stramineus occurs in a large area in the US and Mexico. Here the Echinocereus Stramineus grows in sandy rocky soil. The Echinocereus Stramineus is green in color with light white spines. These spines can sometimes be light yellow in color at the head of the plant. The Echinocereus Stramineus forms clusters and often branches at the bottom of the trunk at a later age.

In the summer the Echinocereus Stramineus will bloom here. Beautiful bright purple flowers then grow from the head of this cactus. The flowers can grow up to 12 cm in size. When the flowers are fertilized, dark red fruits are produced that are edible. The locals eat these fruits a lot and they seem to taste like strawberries.
