Information

The Astrophytum Asterias is a thornless cactus with perfect symmetry. This cactus is green in color with small white dots on it. The Dutch name for this Astrophytum is sea urchin cactus. The cactus was given this name because it resembles the skeleton of a sea urchin. In the summer this cactus has beautiful yellow flowers with a red calyx, they smell wonderful. When you have multiple Astrophytum Asterias cacti, they often bloom at the same time. This has to do with the moon phase. It is also useful for pollinating the flowers.
