The Cleistocactus winteri subs. Colademononis is a beautiful cactus species that occurs in nature in Bolivia. Here the Cleistocactus winteri subs. Colademononis grows on rocky slopes at an altitude of 1100-1500 meters.

The Cleistocactus winteri subs. Colademononis makes all long hanging stems with therefore many small white spines. These spines give this cactus a hairy appearance when the plant gets older. The stems of the Cleistocactus winteri subs. Colademononis can grow up to 2.5 meters long and 7 cm wide.

However, it can happen that some stems break off during transport. You can repot these after drying for about 2 weeks. They will then continue to grow from spring onwards.
