The Dinteranthus microspermus subs. puberulus is a special succulent plant that occurs naturally in Namibia and South Africa. Here this Dinteranthus grows in sandy and gravel soil. The Dinteranthus microspermus subs. puberulus can withstand long periods of drought extremely well. In nature, microspermus subs occur at the sites of Dinteranthus. puberulus rain only in the summer months. The rest of the year the Dinteranthus microspermus subs. puberulus makes do with condensation and mist that deposits on the plant.

The Dinteranthus microspermus subs. puberulus has many similarities with a Lithops. Yet it is a special species. The leaves of this Dinteranthus have a light green-gray color. When the plants get older, they get small dark dots on the top of the leaves. Just like a Lithops, the Dinteranthus microspermus alternates subs. puberulus 1x per year from leaves. The old plant splits open and two new leaves grow from the center. The older leaves dry and fall off the plant automatically.

In autumn the Dinteranthus microspermus subs. puberulus bloom. The flower appears between the two leaves. This is bright yellow in color and approximately 4 cm in size. The flowers of Dinteranthus microspermus subs. puberulus produce a slightly sweet odor.
