Information

The Drimiopsis maculata is a separate caudex species that occurs naturally in Swaziland in South Africa. Here this plant often grows between long grass in rocky and dry areas.

The Drimiopsis maculata consists of two parts. And an underground tuber, which looks a bit like a red onion. She can store a lot of water in this to get through a long period of drought.

The leaves of Drimiopsis maculata grow from the tubers. These start with an elongated brown-red stem. At the end of this are her green leaves with dark spots on them. The edges of the leaves have a slightly wavy pattern.

The Drimiopsis maculata is an easy bloomer. She usually does this with us in the spring. A long flower stem grows from the tuber with many small green-yellow flowers attached to it.
