Information

The Euphorbia mammillaris variegata is a beautiful Euphorbia species that occurs in nature in South Africa. Here this Euphorbia grows in sandy and rocky areas.

The Euphorbia mammillaris variegata has a white to white-green color and makes trunks up to 30 cm high. The Euphorbia mammillaris variegata makes many side arms that grow from the main trunk. The side arms look something like clubs from the Stone Age but also like corn cobs. This is why this Euphorbia mammillaris variegata has also been given the nickname Indian corn cob.

The Euphorbia mammillaris variegata makes all thick woody thorns on top of its trunks. As the trunks grow larger, the thorns fall off at the bottom. The Euphorbia mammillaris variegata is an easier bloomer and often gets many small yellow flowers at the tops of its trunks.

When the Euphorbia mammillaris variegata is placed in a light spot or overwintered in a cold place (above freezing point), its stems will take on a pink glow.
