This beautiful hanging plant is native to eastern Brazil. Here it grows as an epiphyte on trees and other large vegetation. It is named after its discoverer, the French artist and botanist M. Houlletia.

The Lepismium houlletianum var. regnellii produces impressive large leaves. They have a fresh green color and serrated edges. Over time, they can grow up to 1.5 meters long. Exposure to sunlight during bright periods of the year can give the upper parts of the leaves an orange-red color.

The flowering period of the Lepismium houlletianum var. regnellii is at the end of summer and into autumn. Many bright white flowers, 1-2 cm in size, then appear from the sides of its leaves. In some cases, a single leaf can be covered with 50-60 flowers.
