The Lithops Schwantesii is a beautiful small cluster forming living stone species. The Lithops Schwantesii is a very variable species that has many subspecies and varieties. In nature, the Lithops Schwantesii grows in Namibia near the town of Bethanie. The town of Bethanie is located in the Karas Region in southern Namibia. Here the Lithops Schwantesii grows almost completely withdrawn into the ground and is therefore difficult to find.

Once a year, the Lithops Schwantesii changes leaves, just like all other Lithops species. Sometimes two new plants are formed when the leaves are changed. The Lithops Schwantesii is known to do this more often than other Lithops species and a single Lithops plant can grow into a cluster with up to fifteen stones.

The flowers of Lithops Schwantesii appear in autumn. These grow from the center of the leaf and are yellow in color.
