Information

The Maihueniopsis neuquensis is a beautiful cactus species that occurs naturally in a large area in Argentina. Here this cactus grows between rocks on mountain slopes.

The Maihueniopsis neuquensis has a beautiful gray-green color and produces oval, cylindrical leaves. These leaves grow on top of each other. Elongated thin white spines grow sporadically on top of the leaves.

The Maihueniopsis neuquensis is not an easy bloomer. A cold winter can help this cactus to bloom. The Maihueniopsis neuquensis usually blooms at the beginning of spring. Flower buds then grow from the upper leaves, from which beautiful bright orange flowers emerge.
