Information

Mammillaria hahniana is a beloved and striking cactus originating from central Mexico, where it can be found in the states of Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, and Querétaro. The species has a limited distribution area and grows there at altitudes between 750 and 2,200 meters above sea level. It can be found on relatively steep slopes among low-growing vegetation and open deciduous forests.

This species is known for its soft, long, white hairs that can almost completely cover the plant body. As the plant ages, these hairs become thicker, longer, and denser, giving it an almost woolly appearance. Despite its soft appearance, this is a sun-loving cactus that is highly resistant to dry conditions.

Mammillaria hahniana usually grows solitarily, but often forms larger groups over the years. It blooms profusely and at a young age, making it particularly suitable for both novice and experienced cactus enthusiasts. The flowers appear in beautiful rings around the top of the plant and range in color from pink to violet-red.
