Information

The Mammillaria rekoi subs. leptacantha is a beautiful cactus species found in the wild in Oaxaca near Mitla in Mexico. Here, this cactus grows in its natural environment.
The Mammillaria rekoi subs. leptacantha is an attractive cactus with long yellow or brown twisted spines that are hooked at the tips. These characteristic spines give the plant its unique appearance. The plant body has a dark green color that contrasts beautifully with the spines.
The special thing about this cactus is that it forms many new pups. This means that the plant expands quickly and, over time, forms a beautiful, full cluster with many small heads. Due to this growth habit, the plant becomes more beautiful and fuller as it ages.
The Mammillaria rekoi subs. leptacantha flowers in spring and summer. Many bright pink flowers grow from the head of the cactus, appearing in rings around the top. This beautiful inflorescence forms a striking contrast with the dark green stem and the yellow or brown spines.
