Information

The Pachypodium saundersii is a beautiful and unique Pachypodium species that occurs naturally in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Here the Pachypodium saundersii grows in a rocky area in full sun. The Pachypodium saundersii produces a spherical caudex. This is different from its big brothers, the Pachypodium Lamerei. and Pachypodium Geayi.

When the Pachypodium saundersii gets a lot of sun, it retains its compact, wide caudex shape. The Pachypodium saundersii is brown-green in color with elongated wavy green leaves. The Pachypodium saundersii can grow very old and large. In nature, plants of the Pachypodium saundersii have been found that are estimated to be more than 100 years old and are 2 meters high by 1 meter wide.

If the Pachypodium saundersii is happy with you, it will bloom at the end of the summer. The intense white flowers appear between the leaves at the head of the plant. These are approximately 4 cm in size.
