Information

The Parodia scopa is a beautiful cactus species. In nature, this cactus occurs in the south of Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and the north of Argentina. Here, this cactus grows in dry grasslands. The dry grass mainly offers the young plants a chance by giving them shelter from the intense sun.

The Parodia scopa has a beautiful appearance. She has a dark green color and is covered with many white areoles. From these grow her spines. The spines in the middle have a reddish brown color. The spines that grow to the side have a white color. The new middle spines in the top have a beautiful intense red color.

The Parodia scopa is an easy bloomer. She does this when she is happy with you several times in the spring and summer. From the head of the cactus grow her beautiful large yellow flowers with bright red stigma.

When the Parodia scopa hibernates completely dry, it can withstand temperatures down to -5 degrees.
