Information

The Rhipsalidopsis gaertneri, better known as the Easter cactus, is a beautiful Christmas cactus that occurs naturally in the Brazilian rainforests. Here it grows as an epiphyte on trees and other plants. The Easter cactus is mainly found in mountainous areas along the coastal regions near São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

This Rhipsalidopsis has been bred by growers for flower colour, which has resulted in the most beautiful hybrids being selected and further cultivated. The flowering period is in spring, usually around Easter, which gives the plant its well-known name. The flower buds appear in large numbers at the ends of the flat, green segments and open into beautiful star-shaped flowers. What makes this cactus extra special is that the flowers close at sunset and open again at sunrise.

The Easter cactus is also known by various names, such as spring cactus, star cactus, Zygocactus, Schlumbergera and Epiphyllum. In America, this colorful cactus is often called the Sunrise cactus.

At Ikhebeencactus.nl the Easter cactus is available in different colours, such as red, pink, white and purple. So you will always find a variant that fits your interior perfectly!

Bring spring into your home with the Easter cactus! Order your favorite color now at Ikhebeencactus.nl!

Please note: The colour of the flower buds may differ from the final flower colour. In addition, both the grower and we do our utmost to provide a 100% colour guarantee. However, due to human error during cultivation or the pollination of hybrids, it may occasionally occur that a plant has a slightly different colour than expected. Each plant is unique and can vary in growth form and flowering intensity.
