The Rhipsalis crispata is a beautiful fresh green cactus. When you see this plant, you might not immediately think of a cactus. But it is. In nature, it does not grow in sandy and desert-like plains, but in tropical rainforest areas in South America. Here it grows as an epiphyte on the branches, bark and notches in the trunk of larger trees. This often protects it from direct sunlight and it can also be placed in a light place in the house where the sunlight does not always come directly.

The Rhipsalis crispata makes small fresh green leaves that grow together. This way you get long tendrils with hanging leaves. The Rhipsalis crispata blooms in the fall. Many small creamy white flowers grow along the sides of the hair leaves.
