The Agave Filifera is a beautiful Agave plant that occurs naturally in the north of Mexico. For an Agave, the Agave Filifera is a small-growing agave. This is very useful for your home and it does not quickly grow into one of those large Agaves that you see in nature on holiday.

The Agave Filifera has white strings hanging all along its leaves. These give the Agave Filifera its characteristic appearance and make it a real eye-catcher. Each Agave plant of this species has a different pattern and is unique.

When the Agave Filifera is mature, it can grow into a plant of 30-50 cm in diameter with more than 100 leaves. The shape of the Agave Filifera changes to a spherical shape because older leaves have to make way for new ones that grow downwards.

Like any other Agave plant, the Agave Filifera produces a large flower stem at the end of its life. This can grow up to 2.5m high. Clusters of green-yellow flowers grow on the flower stem.

When this Agave overwinters in completely dry soil, the Agave Filifera can tolerate temperatures down to -10 °C.
