The Aichryson bethencourtianum variegata is a beautiful small succulent species. In nature this succulent occurs on the Canary Islands. Here it grows between rocks on mountain slopes.

This variegata variant is not seen in nature. It originated from the breeding of plants in which the chloroplasts in parts of its leaves were missing. This gives you beautiful yellow patterns on its green leaves.

The Aichryson bethencourtianum variegata makes small woody stems and can eventually grow into a shrub of 20 cm high. You can also prune it back or prune it into shape. For this reason it is also used as a succulent bonsai.

The Aichryson bethencourtianum variegata is an easy bloomer. In spring, its flowers appear between the upper leaves. These grow on a small thin stem and have a buttery yellow color.
