The Aloe Plicatilis is a beautiful special agave with a unique growth form. In nature, the Aloe Plicatilis occurs in a small area between the villages of Franschhoek and Elandkloof in South Africa. Here this Aloe grows on some mountain slopes.

The leaves of the Aloe Plicatilis are green-blue in color and grow upwards. As the plant ages, the lower leaves fall off and a trunk forms. Due to this unique growth habit, the Aloe Plicatilis is also used as a bonsai. The Aloe Plicatilis is a very slow growing Aloe. Although they do not grow that quickly, these Aloe plants can grow very old and reach a height of up to 5 meters. The leaves of the Aloe Plicatilis can grow to be 20 to 30 cm long.

The flowering time of the Aloe Plicatilis here is in winter. Yet the flowering time is variable. Some Aloe Plicatilis plants bloom at different times of the year. From the heart of this Aloe grows a flower stem with a large number of 5 to 6 cm orange-red flowers.
