Information

The Avonia papyracea subs. namaensis is a unique plant species that occurs naturally in South Africa and Namibia. Here this Avonia grows in a sandy area between rocks. The plant genus Avonia consists of small-growing species. The Avonia papyracea subs. namaensis is the largest species in this genus. The stems of the Avonia papyracea subs. namaensis can grow up to 15 cm long and 1 cm thick.

The Avonia papyracea subs. namaensis has all small green leaves. Because this Avonia grows in very hot areas with a lot of sunlight, the leaves are covered with many white papery scales. These scales protect the Avonia papyracea subs. namaensis against the bright sun and ensure that the moisture the plant has absorbed does not evaporate.

Do you want the Avonia papyracea subs. To see namaensis bloom you have to be very quick. The flowers only stay open for one hour and then have finished blooming. The flowers of Avonia papyracea subs. namaensis appear with us in the Autumn. From the head of Avonia papyracea subs. namaensis then grow small yellow and white flowers.
