Information

The Cylindrophyllum comptonii is a unique plant that is very drought resistant. In nature this plant grows on dry arid plains between small rocks.

The Cylindrophyllum comptonii forms thick fleshy leaves that grow curved upwards. The leaves have a green-blue color. In the summer, the tips and edges of its leaves can get a red glow. The leaves grow in pairs opposite each other. Each pair turns 90 degrees. The Cylindrophyllum comptonii uses its fleshy leaves to store water. There is a wax layer on the leaves that reduces evaporation by the sun.

The Cylindrophyllum comptonii is an easy bloomer. She often does this when she is a few years old. In the fall a large bright yellow flower appears between the upper leaves.
