Information

The Echinocactus horizonthalonius is a beautiful cactus species found in the wild in northwestern Mexico, northern Texas, and a small area of Arizona.

The Echinocactus horizonthalonius has a beautiful gray-green color and eventually forms eight ribs. Its spines are brownish-yellow and become thick and sturdy. The Echinocactus horizonthalonius grows into an impressive cactus of 20 cm in diameter, but this takes decades. It is a very slow-growing species, especially in its early years. As the plants age, a layer of wool also forms at the top of the plant.

The Echinocactus horizonthalonius flowers in spring and early summer. To flower, it needs to be very happy in your care or have undergone a cold dormancy during its resting period. The flowers of the Echinocactus horizonthalonius emerge from the top of the cactus and are pink.
