Information

The Echinopsis densispina is a beautiful and compact cactus. In nature, this cactus occurs in the south of Bolivia and the north of Argentina. Here, this Echinopsis grows on rocky slopes in the Anders Mountains.

The Echinopsis densispina has a grey-green colour. On top of its ribs grow small areoles from which many fine light brown spines grow. The cactus grows solitary at first. Later when it grows larger it forms side shoots. After a while you get a nice cluster with these cacti.

The flowering period of the Echinopsis densispina is in spring and summer. On top of the plant, gray woolly flower buds appear. These grow into beautiful large flowers with a bright color. The colors of her flowers can vary considerably such as yellow, orange, red or salmon pink.

When the Echinopsis densispina overwinters completely dry, it can withstand temperatures down to -5 degrees.
