Information

The Ferocactus Pottsii is a beautiful robust ball cactus. In nature, this Ferocactus occurs in three places in the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Sinaloa and Sonora. Here this cactus grows in dry and rugged areas.

The Ferocactus Pottsii has a dark green color. When this cactus ages, it takes on a more green-gray color. The spines have a light yellow-brown color. The longer straight central thorns at the top of the cactus are red in color. Later these turn back to the yellow-brown color. When this cactus is young, it grows in a spherical shape. When the cactus has a diameter of about 30-40 cm, it will grow taller. Ultimately, the Ferocactus Pottsii grows into a column 90 cm high.

The Ferocactus Pottsii blooms with us in the summer. To get this cactus to bloom you need a really sunny spot. This Ferocactus also often only blooms when it has a diameter of 15 cm or more. The flowers appear from the head of the plant and are a bright yellow color.
