The Lithops dorotheae is a beautiful and unique Lithops species. This lithops has different colors, but its characteristic feature is its dark markings on top of the leaves. This makes the Lithops dorotheae an eye-catcher among the Lithops species. In nature, Lithops dorotheae is mainly found in parts of South Africa and Namibia. The stones of these lithops can grow to about 3 cm in size. If they are happy with you, the lithops dorotheae will bloom in the fall. The bright yellow flower appears between the leaves.

Lithops species bloom in autumn with white or yellow flowers that appear from the stones. The stones change their leaves once a year. The outer part comes loose and a new plant grows from the middle. The new living stones eventually become larger than the previous ones. So don't be alarmed if the stone suddenly splits open and a new stone comes out. There they grow in sandy soil and are often difficult to find. This is because the Lithops species often largely withdraw into the sand during dry periods, leaving only the top of the two leaves visible.
