Information

The Obregonia Denegrii is a unique cactus that is also the only one of its kind. In nature, the Obregonia Denegrii occurs in Mexico. Here the Obregonia Denegrii grows in a small area in the Valley of Jaumave. Because the Obregonia Denegrii only occurs in a small place in nature, only 5 populations are known with a total of less than 5000 plants.

Fortunately, there are plenty of plants in cultivation. Due to its beautiful appearance, the Obregonia Denegrii is a popular plant. The shape of the Obregonia Denegrii resembles an artichoke. The plant is green-gray in color and has white woolly tips on its leaves from which small light spines grow.

Under the ground, the Obregonia Denegrii produces a thick taproot. This cactus stores a lot of water in this to survive a long dry period. In the summer the Obregonia Denegrii will bloom with us. Flowers grow from the heart of the plant, which are white-pink in color and grow to about 3 cm in size.
