Information
The Rhipsalis paradoxa is a beautiful cactus species. Although it does not exactly look like a cactus, it still falls under one. It grows in nature as an epiphyte on branches of other shrubs and trees. It occurs in a large area in Central and South America.
The Rhipsalis paradoxa has a fresh green color. It produces long stems with flat leaf parts that grow crosswise on top of each other. The new growth often still has an orange-brown color. This later turns green. Because the Rhipsalis paradoxa has long stems, it is well suited as a hanging plant.
Because the Rhipsalis paradoxa often grows on other trees in nature, it does not receive much direct sunlight. That is why this cactus is also suitable for a place where there is light, but little sun or, for example, only evening sun.
When the Rhipsalis paradoxa is larger it can start to bloom. She usually does this in autumn and winter. Many small white flowers then appear along its stems.
