Information

The Selenicereus werccklei is a special and beautiful hanging cactus that you do not encounter every day. In nature, this hanging cactus occurs in warm areas in South America. Here it grows in subtropical forest areas in the shelter of other plants.

The Selenicereus werccklei makes many thin fresh green stems with no thorns. What you do see a lot are the aerial roots that grow out of the sides of the plant and after a while relate. Presumably this gives the plant a hold in nature and it gets water from the air with it.

The Selenicereus werccklei is a night bloomer. The flowering period is in the summer. From the side of its stems this cactus makes beautiful large white flowers.
