Information

This beautiful column cactus, also known as the San Pedro cactus, originates from South America. In the countries of Ecuador and Peru, growth occurs in plateaus at 2000-2500 meters. The trunk of this cactus consists of 4 to 9 ribs. It is a fast-growing columnar cactus that continues to grow in nature until it collapses under its own weight. The parts that fall over then take root again and form new shoots. The Echinopsis Pachanoi is grown from both seeds and cuttings. The cuttings taken from this columnar cactus root easily after which they quickly start growing again. In summer this cactus produces large white flowers. First, a fluffy plume appears between the spines of the cactus, which later grows into a flower with a diameter of up to 15 cm and a length of up to 20 cm. The flowers open quickly. often in the evening and at night and flowers only briefly. Maximum one day. It is nice to smell when the Echinopsis Pachanoi starts to bloom. Then this cactus spreads a wonderfully intense sweet scent.
